Lucy Schneider

Just before Christmas I learned of Lucy’s sudden and unexpected passing. At 4 years old with razor-sharp intelligence, Olympian fitness and a uplifting presence, this was a terrible, unwelcome surprise to everyone who had the privilege of meeting her or being in her company. Lucy’s people are devastated!

Lucy was a beautiful whippet/border collie cross who was rescued and treasured by Chelsea; returning unequivocal companionship, loyalty and love in abundance.

When Lucy came to stay she always slotted in and made herself at home.  She did what was asked without question, co-habited with our resident pooches and was the epitome of a model guest.

However, it was always clear that she knew that the arrangement was a temporary one, with a return to her beloved Chelsea happening soon thereafter. Being together was always the place where they were both truly at their happiest.

Life can be cruel, insidious and ultimately very unfair. Time doesn’t always make loss any easier. Lucy won’t be forgotten and can never be replaced. What time will hopefully do is reinforce the memory of good times spent in the company of a loving, gentle creature who brought light into the lives of those who knew and loved her.

What is undoubted is that Lucy’s gentle spirit and unwavering love will live on forever in Chelsea’s heart and mind.

Run free beautiful girl… !!
